The Team
Charles Singletary Jr. — Founder & Editor
Gaming PR coordinator by day and spec fiction writer by nights & weekends, Charles Singletary Jr. currently lives in and writes out of San Antonio, Texas. His interest in fiction was born from burning through his allowance at the Scholastic book fairs in an Alabama elementary school and has since been cultivated by comics, manga, film, and video games. When not writing or directly feeding the writing habit, he’s spending time with his partner, dog, and two cats.
Kaitlin Stevens — Editor
Kaitlin is a writer and editor from Queens, New York. She got her start working in music, interning at The Source magazine, serving as editor-in-chief for Strawberry Blunt, an all-femme hip-hop blog, and writing and editing for various other pop culture outlets. After going back to school for English and taking creative writing workshops with talented professors, Kaitlin rediscovered her love for writing on a deeper level, exploring all forms—from poetry to fiction to personal essays. It’s also where she learned her natural ability to strengthen the writing of her peers—and how much she loves doing it.
These days, Kaitlin writes about everything, from health and wellness to film and television, as well as her own life. She’s also working on her first young adult fiction novel, and using her editing chops to be the best critique partner she can be.
When she’s not writing, Kaitlin loves to make café-style coffee and tea lattes, watch dumb television and smart movies, and wander New York aimlessly, soaking up all the free inspiration.
Brett Lass — Contributing Writer
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, now living in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife and scruffy dog, Brett Lass is a published writer who has been sharpening his storytelling technique since high school. After trying his hand at theatre and film, both behind the scenes and in front of an audience, he learned that he was far better at and more comfortable creating the story rather than simply being a part of bringing other stories to life. He has previously been a show reviewer/contributing writer for Music Occurred, and his story "Something For The Girl With Everything" was published in The Adirondack Review.
Joe Coad III — Contributing Writer
How do you describe a writer who goes back and forth between short bursts of writing and also long, drawn-out pieces that make them sound like a raving lunatic and that they're talking to you about Pepe Silvia and the mail being a conspiracy theory? Would you call that person sporadic? Would you call them accomplished or focused?
Joe Coad II doesn't know what you would call that, but that's how he describes his writing style and capabilities. Joe has been featured in several publications on Medium, Introvert Dear, Orlando Date Night Guide and in a past life, Hip-Hop-N-More. During the day he writes marketing content for non-profits, an author, and various small businesses in Central Florida. When he's not writing, you can find him catching up on an extensive video game backlog and spending time with his wife and son.
